Eels slay Dragons

The Parramatta Eels have run out 36-10 convincing winners over the St George Illawarra Dragons at Parramatta Stadium tonight.

Dominanting the ruck from the outset, the Eels held a commanding 20-0 lead at half time and never looked like losing.

The result sees the Dragons slip out the top eight and reinforces the Eels as the team to take a few more scalps coming into the business end of the season.

HALF TIME: It is all the Eels. The Dragons suffering from some ordinary marker defence. Should be an interesting second half with Saints having all the work to do.

46 min: TRY - Eels. Nathan Hindmarsh scores under the posts following a bust up the middle of the ruck from halfway. Conversion no problem for Witt. Eels 28-0

53 min: NO TRY - Video ref decides that set move by the Dragons is obstruction and Ben Hornby is denied a try. Some controversy here as the try looked ok. Everything going the way of Parra who are the better side.

58 min: PENALTY GOAL - Eels. Witt makes no mistake. Penalty count now 9-5 in favour of the Eels. Eels 30-0

62 min: TRY - Dragons. Nathan Blacklock gets Saints on the board as he scores a solo try out wide. Conversion Riddell is unsuccessful. Eels 30-4

65 min: TRY - Eels. Matt Petersen scores following a kick through. Witt converts to make it 8 from 8. Eels 36-4

68 min: TRY - Dragons. Michael Howell scores next to uprights after being set up by Brett Firman. Riddell converts. Eels 36-10
