Kogarah 2003 draw
12/12/02
Report from:

St George Illawarra have released the home game
draw for 2003 with WIN Stadium hosting the first
two home games. Kogarah
Jubilee Oval will have five games in 2003 with the
initial match being in round eight.
The first Kogarah match
will be a local derby against Sharks in round eight
(May 2-4). The other Kogarah games will be: Cowboys
(round 12, May 30-June 1); Broncos (round 17, July
4-6); Raiders (round 18, July 11-13); and Warriors
(round 22, Aug 8-10).
The Dragons play Parramatta
and Manly at WIN Stadium in rounds two (March 21-23)
and five (April 11-13). The other matches at WIN Stadium
include: Bulldogs (round 10, May 17-18); Rabbitohs
(round 15, June 20-22); Panthers (round 21, Aug 1-3);
Storm (round 24, Aug 22-24); and Knights (round 25,
Aug 29-31).
The Dragons haven't
played at Kogarah since 1999 when it was deemed that
the ground didn't comply with NRL standards. But intense
lobbying from supporter group, R2K (Return to Kogarah)
was eventually rewarded when in 2002, the club announced
that a return to the St George district was feasible.
The NRL, Local Councils and State Government also
backed the move. Refurbishments are expected to be
completed in time for the round eight match in early
May 2003.
