It has been reported that:
" "Mary's" appointment comes
as some appeasement for the Illawarra faction of the joint venture, who
were upset that St George aligned Brown and Barnhill ousted former coach
Andrew Farrar."
If this is true than the
club have some explaining to do. Why didn't the board stand up to these
bullies? Farrar was out of his depth and had to go, no one can argue against
facts.
If recent events that have
shocked our world have taught us one thing; It is that you can't give into
the demands of people who are self centered and care not for the well being
of the community.
Time to face your demons
Mr Doust. Time to wipe out this "US and THEM" mentality, we are "one dragon
united, the St.George Illawarra Dragon!!". Or so you preach. WELL! time
we act like it. It all starts at the top and right now this puzzling appointment
has many keen followers of the game mystified.
Although armed with plenty
of experience, Paul has very little to offer the team. This was proven
by his performances in the twilight years of his career which were riddled
with errors, wrong choices and selfishness. Qualities you don't want to
bestow on our team.
This appointment brings to
light the problem this Joint Venture simple can't or isn't willing to solve.
The lack of trust and the dictatorship-like attitude sometimes exhibited
by the Illawarra half. On the surface it may appear we are one but decisions
like this not only contradict that philosophy but also tend to add cracks
to the already fragile mask that is the St.George Illawarra.
Time for leadership has yet
again presented its self and once more you've chosen to ignore it. Be a
leader, that's all I ask. After all, that is your job.
I push no religious, scientific,
philosophic or mercenary point. My interest lies solely in establishing
the Truth and what is best for our club.
As the Romans used to say,
Amicus Plato, magis amica Veritas.
