Dragons fans have shown support
for recent changes at St.George-Illawarra with record
first-week sales of 2003 Red V memberships.
With a new coaching
structure headed by Nathan Brown and a return to
Kogarah Oval for the club's Sydney home games, the
Dragons have undergone significant changes for the
2003 season.
Existing Red V members
have been given priority in renewing ticket allocations
at WIN Stadium, Wollongong , for next season or
to purchase seating and general admission tickets
for Kogarah Oval home games. Both have limited capacities.
The priority period
expires on Friday and all remaining or unclaimed
seats and new membership applications will be processed
from November 11.
Dragons marketing
general manager Michael McDonald said many Red V
members had responded.
"The initial
interest has been outstanding from both existing
and potential members," McDonald said. "The
only way fans can guarantee seeing the Dragons is
by purchasing a membership"
The official competition
draw for the 2003 season won't be released until
late November, but it appears likely most or all
home games at the 15,000 capacity Kogarah Oval will
be sellouts.
The Dragons have also
closed the gates at WIN Stadium in recent years,
although capacity was improved to around 19,000
last season with the construction of the northern
grandstand.
