The lunch, which was
in association with event sponsors Tetleys,
was held last Sunday in the Banqueting Suite at
Pontefract Racecourse and a packed house enjoyed
a highly entertaining afternoon and evening.
Castleford coach,
Graham Steadman looked back on a season in which
the Tigers had achieved their goal of reaching the
top six before presenting the awards winners with
their trophies.
Wayne Bartrim has
been having a tremendous season with the Tigers
and it was no surprise to see him pick up the top
award.

Wayne Bartrim had
a successful career with St George before opting
to play out his days in the English Super League.
He was one of the few players who stuck by the Dragons
during the turbulent times of early 1996 and was
rewarded for his consistent displays on the field
when he was selected to play for Australia in 1997.
