St George-Illawarra
coach is Nathan Brown is eagerly awaiting this Sunday's
Grand Final match against the Roosters, citing it
as a clash between the two best sides in the competition.
And it's hard to argue.
While the Roosters finished fourth on the competition
table, their recent form has been exceptional and,
after defeating the Panthers and Parramatta in recent
weeks, they are hitting their potential at the right
time of the season.
"The two clashes
we've had this year have been pretty close. We won
after being down at half time in one match, while
in the other they won after we were up at half time.
So whoever's leading at half time is entitled to
be a bit worried," Brown smiled.
"They were great
against Parramatta and this Sunday will be a great
clash."
The battle of the
halfbacks between Joe Williams (Roosters) and Matthew
Head (Dragons) will be absorbing but both sides
have class players right across the park who cannot
be underestimated. Look to Ian Henderson and Trent
Robinson from the Roosters to have big games, while
Dragons big men Dean Young and Ashton Sims are in
great form.
League fans will certainly
be doing themselves a favour by getting out to Telstra
Stadium by 2pm to catch this match, which will be
displaying some of the best young talent in the
game.
