On Saturday (28/9),
R2K held its last formal meeting for 2002.
Although the Dragons have returned to Kogarah for
2003, R2K will
continue its activities in the future.
R2K is now focused
on retaining St.George-Illawarra matches at
Kogarah Jubilee Oval and wants to ensure that 50%
of home games are
played at Kogarah by the beginning of 2006.
R2K's Tristan Burg
stated:
"We want 50%
of home games at Kogarah by 2006 and we would like
the St.George Leagues Club to negotiate a new licence
beyond 2011
with Kogarah Council."
The R2K group will
work to assist Kogarah Council by supporting
fundraising initiatives which directly raise money
for the proposed
Jubilee Oval Trust Fund. It is expected that Kogarah
Council will
have established the Trust Fund by mid-October.
The structure of
the R2K committee was also reviewed at the meeting.
The committee going forward is:
Dragan Blazevic,
Tristan Burg (Treasurer), Chris Dickson, Melina
Lathouras, Lachlan McLean (President), Zoran Mitrevski,
John Ormsby
(Secretary) & Fay Samuel.
R2K would again like
