Shaun Timmins' injury woes have been
eased somewhat when he was named the St George Illawarra's best and fairest
player of 2002 at a formal presentation in Wollongong last night.

ended prematurely last week after he underwent an arthroscope on his right
knee, ruling him out for the rest of the season.
Timmins' career at one stage was under
threat after suffering a bad injury to his left knee two years ago.
He fought back and after undergoing
surgery and returned this season to represent New South Wales for the State
of Origin series.
Timmins also represented Australia
for the July Test against Great Britain and scored a try in the Kangaroos'
64-10 victory.
Last night's award was decided by votes
of the first grade players and coaching staff wh plced Timmins ahead of
team mates Luke Bailey and Ben Hornby.
