Dragons front rower, Luke Bailey has
been cleared by the judiciary over the tackle which ended Andrew Johns'
season, with a serious back injury.
Newcastle coach Michael Hagan called
for the NSW rep to be charged over the incident, which occurred in the
7th minute of Saturday night's game at EnergyAustralia Stadium, which was
won 26-22 by the Dragons. Hagan was stating Bailey was a third man coming
into the tackle.
Bailey said it was a total accident
and he had no intention of injuring Johns after his right knee caught the
Newcastle captain in the back.
And the judiciary agreed today, clearing
Bailey to play in Saturday night's semi-final against Cronulla.
Bailey's team mate Mark Riddell was
also cleared of a lifting offence after a tackle on Newcastle lock Bill
Peden.
Brisbane prop Andrew Gee was also cleared
by the judiciary after going on report for a head slam on Parramatta's
Daniel Heckenberg in the game at the ANZ Stadium on Saturday.
Sydney Roosters forward Adrian Morley
was the only player on judiciary commissioner Jim Hall's charge sheet today.
This was due to an incident early in Friday night's game against the Sharks
where Morley was alleged to have tripped Cronulla forward Chris Beattie.
