Dragons set to return to Kogarah

St George Illawarra Dragons are set
to return to Kogarah Jubilee Oval in 2003 with details to be released tomorrow.
A media conference described as 'positive'
has been set down at Kogarah Oval where Dragons CEO, Peter Doust is expected
to make the long awaited announcement.
Also in attendance will be coach, Andrew
Farrar, captain Trent Barrett and team mates, Lance Thompson and Mark Gasnier.
They will be joined by Rugby League
'Immortals' and St George legends, John Raper, Reg Gasnier and Graeme Langlands.
National Rugby League chief executive,
David Gallop will also be in attendance.
The Dragons haven't played at their
spirtual home of Kogarah since 1999. There has been some strong lobbying
from the supporter-based group R2K (Return to Kogarah) to see the Dragons
once again play out of Jubilee Oval.
StGeorge Football club CEO, Robert
Stone has been a driving force at club level to get the Dragons back to
Kogarah and has expressed some confidence that the Dragons may play as
many five games there in 2003, sharing the remainder of the season with
WIN Stadium, Wollongong and the Sydney Football Stadium.
Between 1950 and 1999, St George enjoyed
a 70% success rate at Kogarah winning 256 of their 371 games. They had
a winning streak at Kogarah Jubilee Oval which lasted a mind staggering
13 years.
