The
NRL judiciary tonight found St George Illawarra Dragons front rower Luke
Bailey not guilty of a biting charge.
The NSW rep forward was cited to appear
before the judiciary following an incident in last Friday's Knights v Dragons
match where Newcastle forward Josh Perry claimed that he had been bitten
on the arm by Bailey. Perry immediately withdrew his allegation but the
matter was put on report by referee Paul Simpkins.
The Sydney Telegraph then ran a campaign
to have Bailey brought to account and last Monday, NRL judiciary commissioner
Jim Hall referred the matter to tonight's hearing.
Bailey's not guilty verdict will see
him free to take the field for this Sundays match against the Northern
Eagles.
