Lote Tuqiri placed on report and subsequently suspended for
this tackle.
Broncos coach, Wayne Bennett was later reported as saying:
"The rule is you cant put your hand inside the crutch, and thats what they
got penalised for and that should be the end of it""
"If either Tallis or Tuquiri are charged we should start
carrying hand bags out there"
Wayne, there is also a rule that states you can't
lift past the horizontal.

A low point of the match was when Bronco's Carl Webb
for some unknown reason, struck Saints' Shane Millard across the head as
he tried to get to his feet.

Webb is soon surrounded by hostile Saints' players...
to their credit, no Broncos' team mates came in to back him up
|
Webb is fortunate. He only cops a ball in the head.
|
Late in the match and with the Brisbane behind on the
scoreboard, Broncos player Webcke (#8)
combines to sort Bailey out.

Webcke goes on with it in the tackle
and Bailey cops a facial.

Bailey casually puts his mouth guard
back in and gets to his feet.
|
In the next instant, a frustrated Webcke goes after the
dummy half, Shane Millard - well after the ball has been passed. It's amazing
but none of these incidents were picked up by the ref, the touchies or
Jim Hall's Match Review Commitee.
